The Perfect Choice for a Perfect Day
The Great Hall, in the Bishops’ Palace at Farnham Castle, one of the most important historic buildings in the South of England, is a most sought after venue for wedding receptions.
Home of the Bishops of Winchester for over 900 years and a popular choice for meeting and celebration of many Kings and Queens of England over the centuries. This historic 12th century castle and beautiful grounds provide the perfect setting for you and your friends to celebrate your special day, and the backdrop of the building and the gardens offer unmatched opportunities for unforgettable photographs.
The exclusive hire of the castle includes use of the Great Hall, Stone Hall, Minstrels’ Gallery, Sir Ray Tindle Bar and 5 acres of lawn and cultivated gardens.
To ensure you make the right choices throughout, our highly experienced, dedicated team is on hand to ensure that everything is perfect on your special day.
It’s Your Choice
It’s your day and we know from experience that everyone will want to leave their personal mark. Your dedicated organiser will work closely with you to ensure that everything is tailored to your exact requirements and is happy to assist your family, friends and professionals in preparing for the event.
A choice of layout
The 13th century Great Hall has been the setting for celebrations over many centuries. Our team will discuss the layout most suited to your day. We can cater for up to 140 depending on your choice of table layout and entertainment.
Smaller parties, up to 30, may wish to choose the library, with its stunning views across Farnham, for a more intimate dining occasion. (Normally only available Monday - Thursday and selected weekends)
A choice of entertainment
We can provide a setting for almost any type of entertainment. Whether you are choosing a live band, disco, jazz quartet or a classical trio, the Great Hall is the ideal location for you and your guests to be entertained and celebrate with you in your own style. The front lawn, overlooking the beautiful market town of Farnham and beyond, makes an excellent backdrop for a pre - wedding breakfast drinks reception.
A select choice of food
Our team has many years' experience of preparing wedding menus. They will be on hand throughout to help you choose the one that’s just right for you. Whether you prefer a four-course banquet or a cold finger buffet, the specially designed menus have been created to satisfy a wide range of tastes and our highly trained chefs will provide a meal of outstanding choice and quality.
We also offer menus for children, vegetarians and any other dietary requirements

A choice of fine wine and refreshment
A wide selection of drinks with optional canapés can be offered to your guests on arrival and our wine list provides a high quality selection to suit every taste and pocket. Special requests can usually be accommodated or you may prefer to provide your own choice (subject to a corkage charge).

Accommodation at the Castle
To ensure your family and friends can relax and fully enjoy their day with you, comfortable, high standard accommodation is available in the castle.
Our 32 individually designed bedrooms, with views over the castle grounds, offer a choice of doubles, twins and singles. All rooms are en-suite with tea and coffee facilities, hair dryer, ironing station, TV and radio and direct-dial telephone & Internet connection. A number of family rooms are also available and cots can be provided in many of the bedrooms.
Included in the cost of the room, all your guests are offered a choice of full English or continental breakfast.
